Well, I've had the pygmies for about a month now and they all dart straight for the algae wafers or shrimp pellets once I drop them in. Some of the pygmies in the 15 gallon even seem to be helping the Otos and Snail(s) pick the algae off the plants and glass. I originally thought they were just swimming up for air (which I've seen them do on occasion), but they stick around in the same area in the glass, and there's plenty of algae on all 4 glass walls...
There's lots of poop everywhere though, because of all the algae the otos and cories are eating. I'm sure the white clouds contribute a lot too, lol.
When I had the peppered cores in the 5 gallon in QT, I saw them "carry" the shrimp pellets to the back of the tank, behind the ornament, where I couldn't really see them. Sometimes they'd take it inside the ornament.
