I got a bag of play sand recently, 55LBs for under $5.00.

Where ever you get your sand though RINSE IT. And when you think you're done rinsing it, RINSE IT SOME MORE.

I rinsed mine till I thought ALL The dust was gone and it still took several days for the tank to settle.
