I am going to be switching out my gravel, and putting in sand. I know that doing this could give me a mini cycle, but that's not the point.

I was wondering if it would be safe if I got sand from my local beach, or up at a sand pit that my dad found, which is up in the mountains.

I would boil not once, but three times, and wash it out after each time, to make sure that it would safe.
