That is actually one piece of wood just setting different ways. I just started soaking it in a bucket. I plan on putting it in my tank in a similar fashion to the bottom picture with the bottom of the wood buried in the substrate and the part that is sticking up in the picture going at about a 45 degree angle.
As far as my plants go, the crypts appear to have some a root system going at the moment so they might stay in the substrate on their own. The wisteria and moneywort won't stay down in the substrate so I think I will break apart on of my larger rocks with a hammer and tie them off to the small pieces of rock till they start growing some roots down into the substrate. |
