Yes, you can put a male betta or female bettas in nearly any community tank. They are very clam fish when in this type of setting. I wouldnt put them with Fancy Guppies...they might see the pretty tails as a threat. I has one in my gourami tank, but had to remove him because the gouramis were picking on him.
