This weekend I got the opportunity to visit the San Diego Zoo. The main attraction was the Pandas but I got to see some other animals. I didn’t know the zoo was so popular as it’s been over 10 years since I’ve been to one. They have yearly passes but I was wondering why anyone would want that. Now I want one haha. You can’t see the entire zoo in one day unless you just walk by and glimpse at the animals.

Granted most of the animals were sleeping but some were out and about and doing funny things..like pooing. That was not expected and all the kids went “eww”. haha! Here are some pictures I took from the zoo.

I found this picture while browsing through some older fish pictures on my computer. This is the cleanest fish store I have ever seen. I think it’s a fish store and not like for display only but I completely forgot where I got that picture from. Don’t you wish all fish stores look like that?

I was replying to a post about red carpets and I decided to share the picture here also. This was my prize coral and it literally took over the tank. Unfortunately I lost it due to some bad silversides that also wiped out a blue carpet, and a purple gigantea carpet anemone.

I waited 4 years to find another red one. the first 2 i got weren’t as healthy and passed away but this one i was able to keep healthy for over a year.

The pain of losing my red carpet and the huge dent red carpets make on my wallet made me to swore off red carpets…for the near future. hehe.

So I don’t think my tank is ready for full-tank prime-time shot yet but I’ll be posting close up shots of the tank (and maybe you can piece it together? haha). I found some pictures I wanted to share with you.

1. Golden Eel - This was my first eel (and was it expensive!).
2. Squamosa Clam - Rare blue rim with green dots. Have yet to see one again
3. Black Tang - What’s special about a black fish? nothing really unless it’s a black tang
4. Mappa Puffer - A rarer species of puffers. My first puffer and still one of my favorites due to the pattern
5. Cardinals - I forgot the name of these but my friend had a big school of these that always hung together
6. Mystery Wrasse - One of my most favorite fish. I still have the one I got 4-5 years ago.
7. Turquoise Haddoni Carpet - I have a strange fascination with carpets. especially red ones. but i swore no more after losing 2.
8. Blue Hippo Tang - My very first fish I bought from my friend when he was selling his tank.
